Dr. Steve Skotnicki and Mr. Gary G. Small of ATC will provide an overview of successful identification of subsurface contaminants within complex geologic conditions by combining geophysical tools with hyrdogeologic evaluation. Remote sensing techniques are cost-effective means to identify contaminants within complex subsurface conditions such as fractured bedrock, or karst.

Discussion will include the history of these tools and the evolution of technology and application, traditional uses geophysics, mapping, well siting, pathways of subsurface contaminant migration, faults and fractures, Controlled Source Audiomagnetotellurics (CSAMT), Induced Polarization (IP), and case studies.
